Some of the different types of treatments consist of:

CLINICAL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS to control and correct acne, correct or prevent fine lines and wrinkles, eliminate discoloration, control dry skin, help firm sagging skin, and even dull skin tones. They are prescription/clinical strength, so they are stronger than anything you can buy over the counter. Full starter kits typically start at $145* and will normally last about 2-3 months. They will not all run out at the same time so you just replace whatever you need when you need it. Individual prices range from $7 to $100. The products are sold here at the office so you can just stop in and pick up what you need. We can also ship the products to save you a trip for a small fee. This is the cheapest routine but it is also takes the longest to get the results you desire.

CHEMICAL PEELS using salicylic OR trichloracetic acids work wonderfully on acne, wrinkles, skin discoloration, scarring and rough skin. The salicylic acid (medium) peel takes about 20 minutes to do during which time you will experience about 5-10 minutes of a moderate burning sensation to the skin. However, the sensation is tolerable and only lasts briefly. After the peel, you will be required to wear sunscreen anytime you are outside for 5 days. You may or may not peel. If you do peel, your skin will flake and peel just like you do with windburns or sunburns. After 5 days you should be completely through the process. Other than sunscreen and peeling, there are no other special routines or downtime for this peel. Salicylic acid peels are done every 2 to 4 weeks. The cost is $80 per peel or you can buy a package of 5 peels for $325. The trichloracetic acid (deep) peel takes about two hours. It is a much more intense and effective peel that the salicylic acid peels but it does have many more restrictions and a much longer down time and recovery time. However, the results are unmatched by any other peel. Your skin care specialist will explain this peel in more depth during your consultation. The trichloracetic peel costs $320* for each peel for the entire face and neck area or $250* for just the eye area. You may only do 2-3 trichloracetic peels a year. This is a more expensive routine but you get faster results than with the products. It is also better for those who do not want to be compliant with a product regimen.

MICRODERMABRASION is also an option, especially if there is more scarring than discolorationb and/or active breakouts. Microdermabrasion is sort of like "sandblasting" the skin. A stream of super fine crystals are directed over the skin and immediately vacuumed back up. The procedure takes about 30 minutes to do and your face may be a little pink for a few hours afterwards. The only special instruction is that it is best not to tan for 2 days following the procedure and to wear sunscreen if you are outside. You can put make-up on right after your procedure. Treatments are done every 7-10 days and at least 5 treatments are recommended to get the best results. A package of 5 is $250 or they are $60 individually. This is also a more expensive routine but it also helps with scarring and wrinkles. However, skin discoloration results are not as fast as with the peels.

THE BEST WAY to get the fastest results possible and the absolute best results is to combine any of the above routines. When you combine the skin care products with the chemical peels and/or the microdermabrasions results typically begin to be noticed within about two weeks. However, it is also the most expensive routine.

Other options available will be discussed during your consultation with the skin care specialist.
