Frequently Asked Questions
Botox and Judaverm are commonly used to help reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles and to help "plump" up thin lips and scars. The injections are done in the office with a topical anesthetic, if the patient desires. During the consultation, your physician will explain the injections as well as possible risks and complications and take before photos for your medical record. We recommend you bring a list of any questions or concerns to your consultation.
Botox is injected directly into a specific muscle, so that only the action of that muscle will be paralyzed. Therefore, the problem that muscle causes will be stopped, leaving your skin smooth and relaxed. After the treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion. Some of the most common areas treated include crow’s feet, frown lines, laugh lines, and forehead wrinkles.
Judaverm is injected just below the surface of the skin, filling in unwanted lines and wrinkles and adding definition to the lip border or scars.
